Children at Southery Primary School helped to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe. Youngsters, pictured above, enjoyed making parachutes, planting vegetables and cooking on Friday last week. The children also enjoyed a VE Day street party along with singing songs. Headteacher Julian Goodrum said: “It is important that the children understand the reason for the celebrations which were going on across the country.” mlnf15am05016
